I guess the economy has been bad everywhere lately. The local economy has generally been pretty strong, with unemployment rates trailing the rest of the country for the past 5 years. However with firings by Boeing, Microsoft, and Starbucks, along with Washington Mutual failing, the local unemployment rate has risen precipitously.
