In the previous 6 times we've gone to Safeco Field to see the Mariners play, they have lost each game. However, at the game we attended Friday night, despite trailing 6-1 early on, the Mariners came back to win at the bottom of the 9th.
On my way home from work, I met Lesley and her coworker and husband for dinner across the street from the stadium and we went to the game afterward. It was great weather for baseball and it was an exciting game to see. It was nice to hang out with people and I'm glad we went.
We moved to Seattle in February 2008 and shared blog posts and photos during our first few years in Seattle.

What kind of restaurant is across the street from the stadium?
What is the location of the stadium like compared to, say, the Rangers' ballpark? Like, the Rangers one is difficult to access and not really around anything except Six Flags, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere even though you're in the middle of the metroplex. I'd imagine the location of the Mariners' stadium feels different.
It's the Pyramid Brewery and Alehouse, the most convenient place to eat before the game.
The stadium is pretty close to downtown, though, so you can walk to a number of other places. It's quite a different surrounding environment than surrounds the Ballpark in Arlington.
Yeah, Safeco is really close to downtown. You can see the city skyline right behind left field. It's very easy to get to also, lots of buses go down there and it doesn't take that long to walk either.
