It's been a while since I've seen my alma mater play. In fact, I'm not sure that I've been to a game since I graduated. And, now that I live far away from the campus, I expected it'd be a while longer. But, recently I found out that SMU would soon be in Pullman, on the other side of the state, to play the Washington State Cougars.
I like going to football games but didn't think I'd have another chance to see the Mustangs play for a while, so I'm glad this game is so close. Plus, Lesley and I have kind of wanted to go to eastern Washington but haven't really had a reason to yet, and doubt that we'd get a better one than this.
So, we've ordered our tickets through the SMU ticket office so that we can sit with the sure-to-be-small crowd of SMU supporters. And, while SMU has had some rough luck in football lately, WSU hasn't been doing so well either, so this is a very winnable game. I'm ordering a new SMU shirt for the occasion and am looking forward to the game.
We moved to Seattle in February 2008 and shared blog posts and photos during our first few years in Seattle.

It should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing that part of Washington and going away for the weekend.
Now if only TCU would come up here and play UW or something.
How long of a drive will it be?
It's about 315 miles (5.5 hours) from our apartment to Pullman. From there we'll go to Spokane for the night, which is about 75 miles north or 1.5 hours away.
Then we'll go from Spokane through Yakima on the way back, and finally back home, for a total of 347 miles on the way back or 5 hours 15 minutes.
