After our first attempt to hike was obstructed by a washed out road, we drove in the direction of a nearby hike listed in our book. Of course nearby is a relative term, it took a little while to get out there. And it was closer to the mountain pass, so there was some snow on the sides of the road. Then, when it came to turn off toward the trailhead, the road was blocked with a little bit of snow. We contemplated just parking there and hiking up the road, but decided to try an alternate trailhead, which was also blocked by snow. We found a third trailhead that wasn't totally obstructed, but after encountering patchy snow on the trail, decided it wasn't really that fun to hike on snow, even though it was kind of neat that there was still snow around in May. So, here are a few pictures of snow near this hike.

Could you have taken the ski lift?
No, it was closed and we didn't have skis.
